One of the main reasons I'm back to blogging Is that I am now actively seeking additional income as a copyright/editor at an online job-seeking platform. With this blog, I will be able to showcase my English-writing skills to my prospective employers to somehow make up for my lack of experience wi working online. Although I am confident that I have the skills for this particular field, technically I am still a newbie on this online job venture and I still have to build up a decent portfolio to strengthen my online profile.
Anyway, reflecting on my short stint as a blogger way back 2016, here are some of the things I've learned...
What I did wrong:
1) I was more concerned in getting people to visit my blog site that the content I was writing focused more on what I thought people would want to read and not on what I really cared about.
2) I spent way more time on designing the page itself that I wasn't able to write more. Since I'm the artistic type, it was really exciting for me to learn web design for the first time but it shouldn't have become my sole activity while I'm on the site.
Now that I know better, this is how I will now do things differently:
1) This will become my online journal documenting the things I really care about. Regardless of the popularity or lack of it, I will be randomly writing about things that I'm passionate about... from my uneventful and boring life as a 44-year old mother in the suburbs to topics that I'm relatively expert at, like some of the "how tos" I posted on here before.
2) Although it would honestly be nice to have your name known, making this page isn't actually my priority anymore. Being more uninhibited to what I write will be my way of doing things from now on.
So I guess that's it for now. This is actually written spontaneously, as it is the first day of the year 2020. I wanted to kickstart thie New Year with a whole new fresh start on my future adventures, starting with this blog. See you guys again on my next post soon!
